Quad Biking Myths: Exposed

Quad biking experiences are a great gift, but some people worry about giving them because of a couple of misconceptions which surround the sport. To show that it can be a great activity for you, your friends, or your family, we’ve decided to expose a few of those quad biking myths.

Quad Bikes Aren’t Safe

Safety-wise, there’s no doubt that quad bikes can get a bad rep, and that often puts people off giving a quad experience as a gift. However, you should rest assured that nearly all accidents take place where there is a lack of properly trained supervisors and safety equipment.

Staff are always fully trained to guide you on the correct usage of a quad bike, and you’ll be driving beginner models which are made to be easy to use. Of course, you’ll also be fitted with a safety helmet and pads, but you’ll probably never need to make use of them.

Quad Bikes are Just for Adults

Okay – sometimes this can be true. However, most facilities will have mini-quads to accommodate mini-drivers. These models are smaller, less powerful, and incredibly easy to handle, so even children as young as six or seven can enjoy a mini-course of their own.

As we said, the regular quads aren’t at all overpowered, and many kids as young as 8 or 9 can join in the fun. Most quad bike experience providers are able to facilitate children by offering shorter, less intense courses, so there’s bound to be one in your area which fits the bill.

Quad Biking is too Challenging

When you picture quad biking, you probably imagine mud-splattered people ripping through woodland trails at high speed. Remember that these are usually professionals or enthusiasts – judging the activity by that image is like judging the whole of cycling by watching a dirt bike race.

Quad biking can certainly offer adventure, but it’s also a great way to see the country without walking, since you’ll be able to access places which can’t be reached by car or bike. Whatever type of ride you’re after, quad biking can accommodate.

Quad biking offers something for everyone, so don’t hesitate to get involved if you or anyone you know might enjoy the experience.
